This is no goodbye – Milky Change is moving (forward)
It’s been quite a while since you’ve heard from us in terms of Milky Change.
This will be our last blog post in this format – but not a farewell. We’re moving on – in a different way.
Last year, we decided to give Milky Change an update – and set it on new foundations. What once started as a passion project built with research, energy, and conviction by our sustainability manager Makii is now ready to grow further. Milky Change is growing up – kind of.
That’s why, in 2024, we teamed up with Katrin and Sarah from the sustainability consultancy The Changency. Together, we want to rethink our sustainability journey – with more structure, fresh ideas, and long-term impact.
Today, after a few workshops and many conversations, the first results are here: a sustainability vision and a concrete concept for our biggest headline show to date – our homecoming in Kassel on August 23, 2025. We want to take action. And we want to show that sustainable concerts are possible – not perfect, but with clear steps in the right direction.
We’ve already implemented the first measures around our ticket sales:
🎫 The “Green Euro”
For every ticket sold, 1 euro will go towards measures that make our Kassel concert more sustainable.
🎟️ Reduced-price tickets for greater accessibility
We want to make it possible for as many people as possible to attend the concert. That’s why we’re offering discounted tickets for school pupils, students, and holders of the “Mittendrin! Teilhabecard Kassel.”
🚉 Free public transport
Travel in an environmentally friendly way: your concert ticket also serves as a ticket for local public transport.
At the same time, we’re working hard to make the concert evening itself more conscious. We’re currently looking at ways to further reduce CO₂ emissions in areas such as mobility, electricity supply, catering, and many other aspects. You’ll find all the details of our measures on our website soon.
Maybe Kassel will become a role model for more – more sustainable concerts, more responsibility, more future – here and everywhere.
From now on, you’ll find the new “Milky Change” section on our website, where we’ll share our journey with transparency: What are our key sustainability principles? What exactly are we implementing? How did it go at certain shows or tours? You’ll find insights into our projects – for you to follow along and think along with us.
Let’s get stoned in green paradise.
Love,
Clemens & Philipp
